Master Henry’s martial arts career began with Kung-Fu in 1985. After moving to Canada in 1991, he started Taekwon-Do at one of the first community centres run by the Woodbridge Taekwon-Do Group. He has taught for over 14 years at various community schools throughout the city of Toronto. In 2000 he started Swar Taekwon-Do in Caledon East, Ontario.
At SWAR Taekwon-Do all fitness levels and ages are welcome. S.W.A.R stands for Self-Defense, Wit, Awareness and Respect. We pride ourselves on helping you achieve your goals.
To give you the opportunity to challenge yourself and have fun in learning Taekwon-Do with us, we will give you the first week free. We encourage you to come out to the club and try a class.
What is Taekwon-Do?
Taekwon-Do is the Korean Art of Self-defense that has been practiced over the years. Utilizing spectacular aerial and highly advanced kicking techniques, Taekwon-Do has become one of the most popular martial arts throughout the world today and is practiced by more than 40 million students in 145 countries. The philosophy of Taekwon-Do is to achieve peace among mankind eliminating violence and to attain a higher level of self-discipline and self-respect.
Taekwon-Do is the scientific use of the body in the method of self-defense; a body that has gained the ultimate use of its facilities through intensive physical and mental training.
Who Can Train?
Anyone can train, you do not require any prior knowledge of martial arts nor are you required to be an athlete. Some students start training as young as 4 years old, while others start to train in their teens and early adult life, while others start a lot later in their adult life.
Taekwon-Do is a fun activity for the entire family. Taekwon-Do helps to build muscle strength, self-confidence, the ability to defend yourself against an attack, and it promotes good cardio health.

Signifies innocence, as that of the beginning student who has no previous knowledge of Taekwon-Do.
